The role offered is a leadership position within the Prepared Foods department, responsible for guiding and overseeing the daily operations to deliver outstanding customer service while optimizing profitability and efficiency. The position requires managing all aspects including labor management, merchandising, purchasing, inventory controls, regulatory compliance, and special projects. This role is integral to maintaining Whole Foods Market’s high standards and vision for exceptional retail execution. The leader is accountable for hiring, developing, and managing team members, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations. This position requires at least 24 months of retail experience with 12 months in team leadership, commitment to food safety certification, proficiency in financial and operational metrics, and excellent interpersonal skills. The physical nature of the job involves lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended hours, and exposure to various environmental conditions.

The wage range for this position is $25.10 to $42.50 hourly, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • 24 plus months retail experience including 12 plus months of team leadership experience
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to work standing walking 6 to 8 hours in an 8 hour work day
  • ability to perform hand use motions including single grasping fine manipulation pushing and pulling
  • ability to perform motions including bending twisting squatting and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit freezing between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit refrigerators and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives box cutters electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of products buying pricing merchandising and inventory management
  • food safety certification or commitment to complete within 6 months
