This role involves assisting with ordering materials and supplies, menu planning, inventory management, and implementing sanitation, cost, and quality control programs. The Sous Chef is expected to lead and coordinate kitchen team members, ensuring that all food preparation and service meet the company’s high standards. This position plays an integral part in delivering excellent customer service by maintaining food quality and safety and supporting innovative ideas to promote business growth. \n\nIn addition to managing daily kitchen operations, the Sous Chef contributes to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting diversity and respect among team members, customers, vendors, and the community. The role requires extensive food preparation knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage costs and maintain inventory effectively. Employees in this role must uphold strict food safety guidelines, utilize HACCP charts and temperature controls, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. \n\nThis full-time position offers a starting pay rate of $21.50 per hour, with actual compensation based on various factors including experience, skills, education, and location. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Serv-safe certification a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel regionally less than 10 percent of the time

- Excellent food prep skills and food product knowledge

Job Duties
- Actively support a culture of safety including food safety, team member safety, and customer safety
- Actively demonstrate appropriate suggestive selling techniques
- Provide active sampling opportunities when appropriate
- Conduct business with a clear understanding that customer service is a significant point of difference
- Actively participate in and promote an environment which embraces diversity, inclusion, and respect
- Inspect food and food preparation by physical and visual inspection to maintain quality and sanitation regulations
- Assign, coordinate, and evaluate work of kitchen team members by writing schedules and preparation lists
