The role at Whole Foods Market involves performing all functions related to preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products within the Prepared Foods department. This position is vital in ensuring that all prepared foods meet the high-quality standards customers expect, adhering strictly to Whole Foods Market’s guidelines for labeling, dating, covering, and rotating products. Team Members must be proficient in preparing accurate recipe batches, documenting waste and spoilage correctly, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of walk-in coolers and freezers. This role also demands excellent customer service skills to assist customers in understanding the differences between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store options, alongside delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service consistently. Individuals in this position must be punctual, well-groomed, and ready to work all scheduled shifts while actively participating in required trainings and meetings.
Team Members in this role play a key part in maximizing sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising procedures. Compliance with health and safety regulations, including Weights and Measures, sanitation, and safe work practices, is an essential responsibility. The position also includes performing opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring the accuracy of pricing and signs, and promptly reporting any safety hazards or violations. The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience. New entry-level Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days and continue employment in an eligible role may receive a base rate increase. Job Requirements
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- assists with production for all prepared foods venues
- ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- ensures product meets whole foods market guidelines for quality and preparation
- documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
- helps customers understand the difference between whole foods market products and products at conventional stores
- ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
