Team Members are also tasked with maximizing sales potential by applying proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products while strictly following health and sanitation guidelines. The role involves performing assigned opening, mid, and closing duties, maintaining pricing accuracy, and reporting safety hazards promptly. Given the interactive nature of the position, Team Leaders spend significant time engaging with customers on the sales floor, assisting wherever needed, and fostering a collaborative environment.
The work environment demands physical stamina including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and operating tools or equipment such as knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, and occasionally ladders. The schedule may include flexible hours covering nights, weekends, and holidays according to operational needs. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- May require use of ladders

- No prior retail experience required

Job Duties
- Assist with production for all prepared foods venues
- Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
- Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- Ensure product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
- Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
- Ensure that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
- Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
- Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
- Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- Maintain equipment in accordance with company cleanliness and safety standards
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
