Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • capable of bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to cold and warm temperatures
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • no prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensures product production uses correct measuring devices and recipes
  • helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market and conventional store products
  • maintains clean and organized walk-ins and freezers
  • arrives on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to work all scheduled shifts
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, models suggestive selling techniques, answers phones and pages courteously
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of product
  • follows and complies with health, sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • reports safety hazards and violations immediately
