Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • Hand use requiring single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in cold (below 32 degrees Fahrenheit) and hot (above 90 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible scheduling availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensure product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • Ensure that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
