Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- ability to perform hand use activities such as single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
- ability to adhere to WFM quality and safety standards
- must be able to arrive to work station on time and properly groomed
- ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and customers
- ability to comply with health and sanitation regulations
- no prior retail experience required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow directions and procedures
- customer service experience preferred but not required
- ability to work as part of a team

- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- understanding of health and safety regulations
- previous experience in food preparation or retail is a plus but not required
- ability to use tools and equipment safely including knives and pallet jacks
- good organizational and time management skills
Job Duties
- Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
- ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
- documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
- helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
- ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follows and complies with established procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices
- maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
- immediately reports safety hazards and violations
