This role is an entry-level position within the kitchen team, focusing primarily on dishwashing and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas. The position is vital in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall store environment by ensuring all dishware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools are properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized. In addition, the role involves maintaining cleanliness of workspaces including floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves to uphold Whole Foods Market's health and safety standards. Team members in this role are also responsible for assisting with kitchen deliveries, including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
Employees in this role are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members at all times. They must also adhere strictly to team and store standard operating procedures, including compliance with food safety regulations and Weights and Measures requirements. The position requires reliable attendance, appropriate grooming and attire, and active participation in required training and meetings. Team members must contribute labor to opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring an accurate and orderly work environment including proper signage and pricing.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- frequent bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), greater than 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
- maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
- assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
