This particular opportunity is for an entry-level Kitchen Steward position within Whole Foods Market’s Retail team. The role focuses on supporting kitchen operations through maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen facilities and utensils. Duties involve washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, as well as ensuring the kitchen floor, mats, shelves, and walls remain clean and orderly. The Kitchen Steward also assists with receiving and storing kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and organization of products to maintain quality standards.
Team Members in this role are expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain safe and effective work practices in compliance with health regulations, and support other team duties as assigned. The position is designed to support Whole Foods Market’s commitment to food safety, sanitation, and service excellence. This is a full-time or part-time hourly role offering an hourly wage range from $17.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- able to bend, twist, squat and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions

Job Duties
- Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
- maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
- assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
