The role offered is a leadership position within the Prepared Foods department, focusing on assisting with the scheduling, supervision, and development of team members to ensure daily operational flow. The position involves overseeing and maintaining attractive and well-stocked prepared foods, coffee, and juice displays, ensuring customers experience the highest retail standards. Working closely with the Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, this role is key in supporting the smooth operation and success of the team. Responsibilities include fostering a positive work environment through motivation and mentorship, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations, including food safety.

This position is hourly, with a wage range from $17.50 to $30.20, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months retail experience
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day
  • hand use involving grasping, manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in various temperature conditions including freezing and high heat
  • ability to work wet and dry conditions
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools such as knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require ladder use

Job Duties

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members
  • works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train Team Members and minimize turnover
  • assists in training new Team Members using learning materials
  • keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and rotated
  • opens and closes department according to procedures
  • ensures all necessary breaks are given
  • communicates team concerns to Team Leaders
  • sets and achieves high standards of retail execution
  • fosters positive teamwork and morale
  • maintains awareness of customer flows and meets customer needs
  • selects, trains, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members
  • provides performance evaluations
  • consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
