We are currently seeking motivated Cooks to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will primarily focus on preparing delicious and wholesome food for our customers. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be cross-trained across multiple departments within the store, such as customer service, product knowledge, cashiering, and retail operations. This cross-training provides a broader understanding of the grocery industry and enhances your skills across various facets of the store's functions. As a Cook at Whole Foods Market, you will be responsible for consistently executing recipe production to ensure the highest quality and consistency of dishes. Attention to detail is essential as you maintain rigorous food labeling, rotating, and storage practices to preserve freshness and safety.

Job Requirements
- Prior retail, restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred
- must be 18 years of age or older
- ability to work all shifts as scheduled
- ability to follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures
- ability to adhere to safe work practices
- ability to participate in fiscal period and quarter end inventories
- ability to attend all meetings as assigned by leadership including daily huddles

- proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler (must be 18 years of age or older) and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and store
- able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service and address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
- perform all duties related to food preparation and production, execute recipe production and specific venue product flow, and provide great finished products for our customers while ensuring consistency and quality of food
- ensure all prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms and meet all spoilage targets
- ensure that production is done using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
- ensure that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and organized
- be cross-trained and work in multiple areas throughout the store, which may include cashiering
