The role at Whole Foods Market involves performing all functions related to proper food preparation and maintaining various food displays such as the cold case, fresh pack, salad bar, and hot bars. This position requires ensuring the highest quality, consistency, and presentation of food items, alongside tasks related to stocking, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety regulations. In this role, Team Members will prepare food items according to recipe and production sheets ensuring quality and consistency. They will be responsible for labeling, dating, covering, and monitoring all prepared items while managing food rotation to maintain freshness. A crucial part of the job is timely replenishment of food levels to ensure a seamless and enjoyable customer experience. The individual must present themselves professionally, arrive on time for shifts, and engage fully in required trainings and meetings. Excellent customer service skills are paramount, including the ability to address customer needs promptly and to use suggestive selling techniques effectively. Team Members are also tasked with maintaining a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, including the upkeep of equipment, walk-ins, and freezers.
Safety compliance is critical; Team Members need to follow health, sanitation, and safe work practices and promptly report any hazards or violations. The role may involve performing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring signage and pricing accuracy, and supporting store leadership with additional tasks. Job Requirements
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and greater than 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Duties
