This position involves performing all functions related to the preparation and maintenance of food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars. The role requires upholding high standards for food quality, presentation, stocking, and sanitation. Team members are responsible for ensuring that all food items are prepared according to established recipes and production schedules, labeled, rotated, and monitored for freshness and quality consistently. Punctuality, proper grooming, and attendance at required trainings and meetings are essential to maintaining a professional and efficient work environment. The role also involves direct interaction with customers, where team members provide courteous service, address customer needs promptly, and use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales potential.

Safety and sanitation are key responsibilities, including compliance with health and safety regulations and the maintenance of clean work and shopping environments. Team members must also handle equipment according to company safety standards, ensuring all areas—such as walk-ins and freezers—are organized and well-maintained. Opening, middle, and closing shift duties are assigned to ensure smooth operations and accurate signage and pricing throughout the store. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit

  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets
  • prepares food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency
  • ensures all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated
  • monitors food levels and replenishes in a timely manner
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • maintains equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards
  • ensures walk-ins and freezers are clean and organized
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
