Whole Foods Market is more than just a grocery store; it is an organization focused on creating meaningful change both locally and globally. With a strong commitment to sustainability, health, and social responsibility, the company has revolutionized the grocery industry by setting high standards of excellence in organic and natural food retail.

This position involves assisting in all facets of store management including profitability, expense control, purchasing, merchandising, labor oversight, regulatory compliance, and executing special projects. The Team Leader plays a crucial role in leading, mentoring, and developing team members to foster a high-performance, motivated workforce that aligns with the company's core values and goals. This position requires an individual who is highly energetic, enthusiastic, and deeply connected to the company's values and products, with a growth mindset oriented towards taking on more responsibility and ownership.
Key responsibilities include maintaining creative store layouts and product merchandising, supporting sales and labor target achievements, analyzing sales reports, and maintaining positive vendor relationships. The Team Leader also acts as the department’s point person in the absence of the main Team Leader and ensures outstanding retail execution standards are upheld. Leading by example in demonstrating exceptional teamwork, respect, and morale, the Team Leader supports customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs promptly and efficiently. This role demands excellent interpersonal, motivational, and leadership skills, as well as proficiency in operational tools such as Microsoft Office and email applications. A minimum of 18 months retail experience and six months of supervisory experience are required.
Physically, this position demands the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in various temperature conditions including freezing and warm environments, and operate tools and machinery such as knives, electric pallet jacks, and ladders. The role also requires standing or walking for 6-8 hours a day along with occasional bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
Whole Foods Market offers competitive wages, ranging from $19.05 to $33.20 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition, the company provides comprehensive benefits termed "Whole Benefits," which include store discounts, paid time off, financial wellness, health and wellness support programs, and additional team member perks. These benefits vary based on location, job type, and length of service. Whole Foods Market is committed to equal employment opportunity and promotes diversity and inclusion in its hiring practices.
