Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- Capacity to perform hand use tasks such as grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in cold and wet environments
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to operate tools and equipment including box cutters, knives, pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, carts, balers, and heavy machinery
Job Qualifications
- Retail team member experience of at least 18 months
- Supervisory experience of 6 months or more
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
- Advanced knowledge of supported department products
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational software
- Ability to motivate and coach team members
- Effective customer service skills
- Proficiency in financial analysis and inventory management
Job Duties
- Follow through on customer questions and requests, resolving concerns as needed
- Work with Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
- Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and develop and maintain awareness of new products
- Work with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues
- Function as point person and departmental person-in-charge in absence of Team Leader
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution
- Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team
- Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
- Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market vision and goals
