The role of the Multi-Team Assistant Team Leader is an essential leadership position responsible for supporting daily department operations under the guidance of the Team Leader. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • Capacity to perform hand use tasks such as grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in cold and wet environments
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment including box cutters, knives, pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, carts, balers, and heavy machinery

Job Qualifications

  • Retail team member experience of at least 18 months
  • Supervisory experience of 6 months or more

Job Duties

  • Follow through on customer questions and requests, resolving concerns as needed
  • Work with Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
  • Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor
  • Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and develop and maintain awareness of new products
  • Work with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues
  • Function as point person and departmental person-in-charge in absence of Team Leader
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution
  • Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team
  • Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
  • Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market vision and goals
