This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of the prepared foods areas, including the café, rotisserie, and other fresh food sections. The Department Lead collaborates closely with other team leaders to align departmental goals with overall club objectives, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. They leverage digital tools and handheld technology to make real-time business decisions that enhance the shopping experience and optimize sales.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead serves as a talent ambassador, driving training programs and career growth initiatives. They identify training needs, develop skills within their team, and promote a positive work environment where associates feel supported and motivated. This leadership role requires a deep commitment to upholding company policies, promoting integrity and ethics, and ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant workplace.
The position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $23.00 to $31.00, with additional premium pay possible under specific circumstances. Sam's Club also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, financial benefits such as 401(k) and stock purchase plans, paid time off, and additional perks like disability coverage and education assistance through the Live Better U program.
In summary, the Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead at Sam's Club in Chino, CA, is a dynamic leadership role that combines operational management, team development, and member service excellence within a fast-paced retail environment. The role not only requires strong supervisory skills and expertise in prepared foods but also a passion for creating a welcoming and efficient shopping experience.
