This role of Prepared Meal and Rotisserie Chicken Associate is a vital part of the Sam's Club fresh food team. The associate is responsible for preparing and serving fresh food items daily, with a particular emphasis on rotisserie chicken that is always warm and ready to go. This position requires careful attention to detail in following recipes, wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise to ensure freshness and quality. Associates in this role will also multitask efficiently, assisting members with bakery orders and maintaining a pleasant customer interaction that contributes positively to their shopping experience. This role is perfectly suited for individuals passionate about food, customer service, and operational excellence.
The associate ensures high standards in product quality by monitoring food safety, temperature control, and expiration dates, and is responsible for disposing of substandard products. The role involves maintaining a clean, sanitized, and member-ready sales floor area, and managing inventory and production planning according to seasonality and demand. The associate collaborates across functional teams, educates peers about tools and resources, and uses digital technology to optimize sales and enhance the customer experience using handheld devices and other digital tools.
In addition to preparing food items, associates take ownership of their area, driving consumption and managing performance metrics such as merchandise stocking, rotation, and waste elimination. They serve as brand ambassadors by modeling high-quality service, execution, and passion for their work. Compliance with company policies, ethics, and operational standards is mandatory, supported by open communication and ongoing collaboration with team members and leadership.
