We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team as a Food Preparation Worker. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless execution of our culinary offerings by preparing and setting up workstations and ingredients per established recipes. The position requires a strong sense of organization, proficiency in kitchen operations, and adherence to food safety and sanitary standards. As a Food Preparation Worker, you will be instrumental in upholding the high-quality standards of our brand by carefully following recipes, managing portions, and presenting dishes with precision.

This job involves mastering various kitchen utensils and equipment, including pasta-making machinery. You will be tasked with setting up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and tools before service begins, as well as replenishing supplies throughout your shift. Ensuring consistent quality and safety in food handling practices is paramount, as is maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen. This position also supports the team by stepping in to assist other cooks during peak times or emergencies and performing additional tasks as delegated by the chef or kitchen management.

The role demands stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often exposed to heat sources during meal preparations. Communication skills in English are essential to follow safety protocols accurately and collaborate effectively with team members and management. The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes portion control and presentation specifications using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of ingredients and dishes according to brand standards
  • Acquire knowledge to operate cooking and pasta-making equipment
  • Set up your station with all necessary ingredients preparation and utensils at the start and end of service
  • Replenish all items as needed during the shift
  • Inspect food preparation and service areas to ensure compliance with sanitary and safe food handling practices
  • Flip or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • Season and cook foods according to recipes or personal judgment
  • Observe taste test foods to determine doneness
  • Portion arrange decorate and serve food to staff or customers
  • Substitute or assist other cooks during emergencies or peak periods
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the chef sous chef or kitchen manager at any time
  • Clean and maintain station practicing exceptional safety sanitation and organization skills
  • Understand and demonstrate proper use and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
  • Assist with cleaning sanitation and organizing kitchen cold storage and all storage areas
  • Receive and organize deliveries ensuring count and weight of invoices to maintain costs
  • Remain constantly exposed to heat sources to prepare meals
  • Maintain always a professional behavior with all staff
  • Notify general manager or chef if ingredient utensil or sanitary item shortages occur
  • Notify general manager or chef if any pest activity occurs
  • Keep kitchen work areas equipment and utensils clean and organized
  • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving as requested by the chef
