Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Follow prep lists created by chefs
  • Label and stock all cooking ingredients
  • Complete all tasks in order on the prep list from the Head Chef or kitchen manager
  • Wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Measure quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Adhere to all nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
  • Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborate with kitchen and management staff
  • Learn cooking methods and techniques used in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored and accessible
  • Supervise food and cooling room temperatures
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
  • Assist chefs in preparing food and culinary tasks
  • Execute cooking techniques under the direction of Sous and Executive Chefs
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards
  • Portion, chop, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Ensure proper temperature of appliances and food
  • Set up and break down workstations
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen equipment and tools
  • Follow all company safety and security policies
  • Responsible for dish machine maintenance
  • Keep clean supply of dishware, glassware, silverware, utensils, and cookware
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment adhering to cleanliness and sanitation standards
