The Prep Cook/Dishwasher role is an entry-level position within Tahoe Donner Association's Food & Beverage Team. Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food handling
  • Ability to lift an average of 50 lbs
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the position
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Commitment to maintaining personal cleanliness and professional appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience performing the duties of a cook or prep cook and/or training in culinary science
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures
  • Understanding of food handling sanitation
  • Familiarity with principles, procedures and equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking and dispensing of food in large quantity
  • Ability to prepare and cook all food groups
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and keep records
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with others
  • Ability to maintain a clean and neat personal appearance

Job Duties

  • Assist with preparing food and beverage items for the eating establishment
  • Restock all food and beverage items in the kitchen
  • Clean, scrub and scour cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes using an industrial dishwashing area
  • Clean, scrub, sweep and mop kitchen area
  • Follow oral and written instructions
