We are currently seeking passionate and creative individuals to join our team as Cooks. As a Cook at Aramark, you will have the exciting opportunity to bring recipes to life, working within a kitchen environment equipped with fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. This role goes beyond typical food preparation, allowing you to experiment with different cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles, providing a platform to express your culinary creativity. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes according to standardized recipes and production guidelines, ensuring every meal meets Aramark's quality and safety standards. In this role, you will be setting up your workstation each shift with all necessary ingredients and equipment, preparing food items by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling. You will use a variety of utensils safely, including knives, and operate kitchen machinery such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Cooking methods you will employ include baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming various ingredients like meats and vegetables. Part of your duties also includes arranging, garnishing, and portioning food to meet established guidelines as well as properly storing food by adhering to strict food safety protocols. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in your work area and equipment is essential for the health and safety of guests and coworkers.
Along with these technical skills, Aramark values excellent customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Adhering to safety policies and procedures is critical, as is ensuring the security of company assets. This role may also involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods. Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets
