The role of Hot Line Cook at Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is integral to maintaining the exceptional quality and consistency of the food served. This position requires the individual to accurately and efficiently prepare hot food items, ensuring each dish meets the brand's high standards for flavor, presentation, and portion control. The Hot Line Cook is responsible for preparing and portioning food before cooking, skillfully plating and garnishing dishes to provide an exceptional dining experience for guests. Working in this role means embracing the company’s standards and recipes consistently, being accountable for the quality of dishes served, and adhering to kitchen policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is expected to have at least one year of experience in kitchen food preparation and cooking and must be able to communicate effectively with managers and team members across the kitchen and front of house. The job demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of this role. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • able to follow Ruby Slipper standards and recipes consistently
  • able to maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house members
  • able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • ability to follow recipes and quality standards consistently
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area
  • physical stamina to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
  • basic knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot food products accurately and efficiently
  • prepare and portion food prior to cooking
  • plate and garnish cooked items according to standards
  • prepare appropriate garnishes for hot menu plates
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • follow Ruby Slipper standards, recipes, and kitchen policies
  • communicate clearly with managers and kitchen and front of house team members
