As a key member of the kitchen team, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food that aligns with SeaWorld’s exacting standards and safety guidelines. The role requires adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) protocols, ensuring food safety and sanitation while managing kitchen equipment efficiently.
Candidates will engage in various kitchen tasks such as cooking to menu specifications, handling open flame char grills, smokers, steam kettles, woks, and bakery machinery. Attention to detail in food preparation is crucial, including cutting and chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats, as well as assembling wraps, sandwiches, salads, and fruit cups. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas is a top priority to meet health standards. The role also involves understanding and incorporating allergen management and dietary meal preparation techniques to cater to guests with special dietary needs.
In addition to culinary skills, the position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with fellow Ambassadors, vendors, and guests. Flexibility in work location and schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required to meet operational demands. Physical stamina is essential as the job involves extensive walking, standing, and sometimes climbing, alongside lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to varied weather conditions, including heat and cold, and may involve working indoors and outdoors.

Job Requirements
- Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
- At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)
- Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Ability to prepare special dietary meals
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, vendors and our guests
- Valid state driver’s license preferred
- Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand and walk extensively throughout work shift
- Able to climb or ascend heights if needed
- Able to perform physical activities including kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, and fine hand manipulation tasks
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather including extreme heat
- Willingness to perform cleaning duties including use of cleaning chemicals
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Flexible work locations depending on business needs and career development opportunities
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school

Job Duties
- Oversee final prepared food quality
- Cook high-quality food to menu specifications
- Utilize advanced and non-automated kitchen equipment including open flame char grill, smokers, steam kettles, woks and large bakery machinery
- Complete food prep by cutting and chopping of vegetables, fruits and meats
- Assemble wraps, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, etc
- Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitary
- Incorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary meals
- Interact with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent service
- Perform other duties as assigned
