Job Requirements
- Must have 1+ years of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Valid Southern Nevada Food Handlers certification
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, irregular hours, and varied shifts
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Must adhere to company policies and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- 1+ years of various culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering kitchen
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
- Southern Nevada Health District Food Handlers Certified
- Ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor in high-stress environment
- Demonstrate commitment to AREA15 service standards
- Professional and polished appearance
Job Duties
- Set up and sanitize workstations
- Follow prep lists created by chefs
- Measure ingredients and seasonings and prepare cooking ingredients such as soup stock
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads or desserts
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic cooking techniques including grilling, sauté, griddle, fryer, baking, broiling, plating, and food decoration
- Ensure all food items are properly stored and accessible
- Follow daily production sheets for prep with approval for deviations
- Execute opening and closing duties
- Check quality and freshness of ingredients and report concerns
- Assist chefs in food preparation and culinary tasks
- Adhere to proper food handling and preparation practices
- Execute assigned prep and understand timing of ingredient preparation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely
- Maintain kitchen, workstation, kitchen equipment, and related areas clean and safe
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and health regulations
