The role of a seasonal Prep Cook at Delaware North Sportservice at Progressive Field is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environments and are eager to coordinate and prepare multiple food orders efficiently. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $13.00 to $18.00, along with access to a comprehensive benefits package. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring food is prepared to precise specifications before and during unit operations, adhering to all portion sizes, quality standards, safety protocols, and sanitation regulations. You will work closely with the chef to receive instructions and training, maintaining cleanliness and organization of food, utensils, and equipment throughout your shift. The duties also include performing opening, closing, side work tasks, and managing end-of-day inventory as per guidelines. This position does not require prior experience or a diploma, making it accessible to a wide range of applicants who possess the ability to follow prep sheets and instructions and are capable of safely using kitchen tools including knives and small kitchen equipment. Physical stamina is essential as this job requires standing and walking for the entire length of the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in variable temperatures. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs as well as stand and walk for the entire length of shift possibly in a confined space
  • Manual ability to chop mix blend whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
  • Exposed to variable temperatures frequently immersing hands in water

Job Qualifications

  • No experience or diploma required
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and follow instructions
  • Capacity to use kitchen tools safely including knives and small equipment ware

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations complying with all portion sizes quality standards department rules policies and procedures label date and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
  • Communicate with the chef for any instructions or training
  • Uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations and follow all safety security and kitchen procedures
  • Maintain food utensils and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • Perform opening closing and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
