The Prep Cook position at Avery Point is a part-time role offering flexible scheduling with competitive hourly pay ranging from $17 to $18 per hour based on experience. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and teamwork, who have some culinary experience and wish to contribute to an exceptional dining experience within a senior living setting.
In this role, the Prep Cook will play a crucial part in supporting the Signature Dining Programs by preparing food items à la minute and assembling chef-inspired dishes using state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and quality to drive resident satisfaction. Prep Cooks will work alongside a dedicated team in a supportive, inclusive environment, preparing nutritious and delicious meals that enhance the overall living experience of the community’s residents.
The team members in this role typically complete their shifts well before 9 pm, supporting a healthy work-life balance. Job Requirements
- Must be able to work some weekends and holidays
- be able to lift and or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- ability to work in varying temperatures from hot kitchens to cold refrigerators and freezers
- comply with specific state regulations and requirements as applicable
- availability for part-time flexible scheduling
Job Qualifications
- Culinary experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties
- Assist in the consistent preparation of all food items according to proper safety and cooking techniques
- maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen and work station
- use culinary talents to prepare and assemble high quality menu items that drive resident satisfaction
- work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food service
- adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies
- participate in inventory management and stock control as needed
