The company is currently hiring for a part-time Prep Cook position at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, located at 500 Waterfront Drive, East Providence, Rhode Island 02914. This role offers an hourly pay range of $18.00 to $20.00, with shifts that may vary, typically falling between 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. As a part-time Prep Cook at Unidine, you will be an integral part of the culinary team responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of food items following established recipes and production schedules. The role requires compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations including HACCP guidelines. You will prepare ingredients according to daily production sheets, complete waste logs, and ensure all food items are properly labeled and stored. Working closely with the Chef, you will taste and check meals for quality before service, and operate kitchen equipment while maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols. Customer service plays a key role as well, with opportunities to take food orders requiring short preparation times and serving customers efficiently at various stations.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
