The role of Cook 1 at Invited is an entry-level position focused on basic food preparation and managing the setup and maintenance of a designated workstation within a busy club kitchen. This position involves daily preparation and storage of food items needed for your station while adhering to proper cooking techniques and consistent food presentation standards set by the Chef team. Cook 1 collaborates closely with Cook 2 and Cook 3, working under direct supervision from the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef to ensure smooth culinary operations. Responsibilities include receiving and storing incoming goods, managing shared items such as condiments and soups, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen work areas. Communication skills are essential in this role for effectively liaising with chefs and addressing member and guest needs or complaints professionally. Given the dynamic and fast-paced club environment, employees are expected to be flexible by assisting colleagues and performing additional duties as required by management. The role also demands a proactive approach to personal development and adherence to all policies and health and safety regulations. Cook 1 will succeed by demonstrating a strong willingness to learn, adaptability, and effective coordination within a team setting. This role not only requires physical stamina to handle the demands of a kitchen but also a commitment to maintaining the standards of excellence that Invited clubs are known for worldwide. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years kitchen experience
- Valid food handler certification when applicable
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, twist, bend
- Effective communication skills including talking and hearing
- Available to work weekends and/or holidays
- Follow company, club, and department policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a kitchen environment preferred
- Valid food handler certifications as required by state and city regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
