The role of Prep Cook at The Piazza is integral to maintaining the quality and efficiency that guests expect. The person filling this role will be responsible for preparing batch production food items according to exact menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality every time a dish is served. They will work closely with culinary staff to cook and deliver food to the appropriate outlets, always adhering to health department guidelines for cleanliness, labeling, and storage. Prepping work stations, managing orders efficiently, and maintaining a clutter-free kitchen environment are also fundamental aspects of the job. This position requires a positive outlook and a professional attitude to foster a collaborative kitchen atmosphere, prioritizing safety, sanitation, and customer delight. Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 yrs of age
  • A minimum of one year line or food production experience in high volume restaurant industry preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours)
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or push a minimum of 40 lbs
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and knife skills
  • Must be willing to complete knife safety training
  • Must be a team player and work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow recipes and established training guidelines
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

Job Duties

  • Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene and sanitary conditions at all times
  • Ensure venue product and dining experience surprises and delights the guests
  • Follow standardized recipes to ensure accuracy with food orders
  • Keep station clean and free of clutter during shift
  • Manage high volume orders efficiently
  • Take direction effectively
  • Communicate in a friendly and professional manner with guests and staff
  • Complete all pre-shift work and break down stations after close following open/close checklist
  • Stay consistently on task and take responsibility for one's work
  • Perform other duties traditionally performed by a prep cook
