The company is currently seeking a full-time or part-time Line Cook/Prep Cook to join their team immediately. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and reputation of the food served at Chuy's - Opry Mills. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing menu items that meet the restaurant's quality standards while working efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates should have a strong attention to detail, a calm demeanor even under pressure, and a keen willingness to learn new cooking techniques and menu items as they evolve.
In this role, the cook will focus on preparing food items as ordered and adhering to food safety and sanitation practices to ensure every dish served is of the highest quality. The position demands a hands-on approach to measuring, mixing ingredients, and preparing meats, fish, vegetables, and other components with skill and precision. The cook must also stay proactive by anticipating order demands to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area, tools, equipment, and supplies is a critical part of the job.
Besides direct food preparation, responsibilities also include keeping storage areas such as the walk-in cooler and freezer well-organized and assisting with inventory temperature logs and waste logs as needed. The successful candidate will have knowledge of food service regulations and be comfortable using kitchen tools and machinery required for the job. Physical stamina is necessary to lift, carry, and pull heavy objects as well as to stand for extended periods.

- Previous experience in a food preparation or cooking role preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
