Prep Cooks are responsible for precise slicing, portioning, and plating tasks that lay the groundwork for a great dining experience. The role demands a combination of culinary skill, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high standards. The compensation for this role ranges from $15.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. This position offers flexible scheduling, including working on weekends and holidays, and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and supportive kitchen team.
Prep Cooks at Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk will find themselves actively engaged in preparing various ingredients such as washing, peeling, slicing, and mixing vegetables and fruits. They will also be involved in making sauces, carving meats and cheeses, portioning food for service, and ensuring that their workstation remains clean, stocked, and safe. Communication with teammates and managers is essential to maintain a seamless flow during service. Additionally, Prep Cooks are encouraged to take pride in their work, go beyond the basics by maintaining kitchen equipment in excellent condition, and contribute ideas to improve cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen. The role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and who want to develop their culinary skills while contributing to a memorable customer experience.

Job Requirements
- at least 18 years of age
- previous prep or line cook experience preferred
- basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation
- comfort following recipes and portioning food
- a team focused attitude and ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment
- ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
