Job Description
Proof of the Pudding is a distinguished catering company with over forty years of experience delivering culinary excellence and exceptional event experiences. Originating in Atlanta, the brand has built a reputation for innovation, passion, and impeccable hospitality, serving a wide variety of occasions such as weddings, holiday parties, corporate retreats, and social gatherings. The company prides itself on creating unforgettable events through creative menus, seamless service, and elevated design expertise, becoming a trusted name in the catering industry. As Proof of the Pudding expands its footprint into the greater Austin area, it continues to uphold its commitment to excellence, bringing the same superior standards and values to new markets.
Currently, Proof of the Pudding is seeking Prep Cooks to join its team at the H-E-B Center Cedar Park, a premier multi-use entertainment facility located near Austin, Texas. The arena hosts a broad range of events including sporting events, concerts, and family shows and serves as the home to the Texas Stars (American Hockey League), the Austin Spurs (NBA G League), and the Austin Acoustic (Legends Football League). This role is seasonal and part-time, with work schedules that depend on the calendar of athletic and other events hosted by the venue. The position offers competitive pay starting at $18 to $20 per hour and provides several benefits including daily meals per shift, on-the-job training applicable industry-wide, flexible work schedules excluding home baseball game days, and opportunities for advancement within a dynamic company. Working for Proof of the Pudding offers the chance to contribute to a respected culinary brand while working at one of the most scenic and iconic venues in Cedar Park.
The Prep Cook role is integral in maintaining the high standards of quality and service that define Proof of the Pudding. Responsibilities include observing and practicing all health and sanitation procedures, ensuring that all food products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures, managing product rotation with accurate labeling and dating, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Prep Cooks must have working knowledge of kitchen equipment, a solid understanding of standard measurements and portions, and consistently use proper utensils and portions to uphold quality. The position involves coordinating orders to ensure timely and accurate preparation, assisting with restocking plateware and food items, and supporting other team members as needed. Compliance with health and safety regulations is mandatory, and Prep Cooks may be assigned to work multiple kitchen stations throughout their shifts. Due to the dynamic nature of the event-driven work environment, flexibility, fast-paced mobility, and the ability to work in varying temperature zones are essential.
Proof of the Pudding values its employees highly and looks for individuals who demonstrate core competencies such as business acumen, dedication, integrity, safety awareness, teamwork, clear communication, initiative, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a bustling kitchen environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and is committed to delivering top-quality food preparation and service. The company’s commitment to inclusion and diversity ensures an equitable workplace, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Joining Proof of the Pudding means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to culinary excellence and the success of every event they cater.
