Job Description
The Navigators is a faith-based organization dedicated to advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and expanding His kingdom across nations. With a focus on developing spiritual generations of laborers who live and disciple among the lost, The Navigators operates with a strong foundation built on its mission, core values, and calling. Established as a ministry with global outreach, the organization emphasizes spiritual growth and service as vital components of its identity. This unique positioning reflects a commitment not only to faith but also to community building and cultural development within their sphere of influence.
The Navigators seeks a Prep Cook to join their culinary team to support their hospitality operations within a faith-centered environment. This role is key to ensuring high-quality food preparation consistent with established standards while upholding cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the kitchen. The position offers hourly pay ranging from $16.00 to $17.00, with employment likely structured as part-time or full-time based on the needs of the facility. Serving primarily in a supportive food preparation capacity, the Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing various food items such as meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, and breads, following daily preparation lists and recipes.
The Prep Cook at The Navigators will be responsible for maintaining a sanitary and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards, and collaborating effectively with kitchen staff and management. The role also includes participation in team meetings and contributing suggestions to improve food service delivery and operational processes. Employees in this position are expected to assist with special events and off-peak food prep as needed. In addition to their culinary responsibilities, Prep Cooks will partake in organizational learning events and cultural and diversity training to enrich their contribution to The Navigators’ mission.
This opportunity is especially suitable for candidates who align with The Navigators' spiritual mission and values, possess foundational culinary skills, and seek to work in an environment that merges faith with service. As an equal opportunity employer, The Navigators values diversity and inclusiveness and does not discriminate on any protected basis. The organization encourages individuals who meet the requirements and share their mission to apply, understanding that due to the evergreen nature of this job posting, immediate openings may not always be available but qualified applications will be considered for future opportunities.
