We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Full Time Prep Cooks to join the team at Gilt Bar. Compensation for this role ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, reflecting the importance of skilled kitchen support in maintaining the high standards expected by Hogsalt. The Prep Cook plays a crucial part in the kitchen operations by ensuring that all menu items are prepared to precise quality and time standards as outlined by the Hogsalt Recipe Index. This role requires cooperation with other kitchen staff members, maintaining clear lines of communication, and adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene standards. Availability for shifts including mornings, weekends, and holidays is required due to the fast-paced nature of the environment. Physical stamina is also essential, as the role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in variable temperature conditions. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, and stooping
  • Ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year of prep experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant
  • Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude
  • Open availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control
  • Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met
  • Maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service
  • Answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Prep Lead, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership
  • Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met
  • Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations at all times
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, and vendors
