The Prep Cook position at Frazier Farms Market is a full-time opportunity, featuring closing shifts from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This role is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen, responsible for preparing ingredients and recipes with consistency and precision. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, grocery kitchen, or similar food preparation environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to the operation of commercial kitchen equipment and shift requirements
  • California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and production schedules
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required

Job Duties

  • Prepare, portion, cut, chop, mix, and cook food according to established recipes and production standards
  • Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, walk-in coolers, freezers, and workstations
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and properly store deliveries
  • Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices
  • Monitor product quality and report shortages, spoilage, or damaged goods to management
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment in accordance with training and procedures
  • Maintain organized and fully stocked work areas to support kitchen production
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
  • Provide courteous assistance to customers or team members when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
