Bon Appetit is currently seeking a full-time Prep Cook to join their team at the Colorado Christian University location in Lakewood, CO. This role operates on a Sunday through Thursday schedule, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, offering a fixed hourly pay rate of $20.00. The Prep Cook position is a critical culinary role, focused on preparing food in accordance with established recipes and production schedules provided by the Chef. The successful candidate will work within federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, ensuring food safety and quality throughout all stages of preparation and service.

As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for following detailed production sheets, preparing menu items to exact specifications, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will be required to taste dishes to guarantee quality, operate kitchen equipment safely, and adhere to proper food labeling and storage protocols under HACCP guidelines. This role also involves interacting with customers, fulfilling orders promptly, and resolving any food-related concerns with professionalism.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in kitchen prep required
  • Ability to work full time Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safety and quality of food supply
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
