Located at La Rams - 21555 West Oxnard Street, Woodland Hills, CA, Flik Hospitality Group is currently hiring for a full-time Prep Cook position. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.00 to $23.00, reflecting the company’s competitive pay scale in the food service industry. The schedule is full time, Monday through Saturday, with hours varying between 30 to 40 hours per week depending on team needs. The Prep Cook’s primary responsibility is to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Under the guidance of the Chef, the prep cook executes daily production schedules, adhering strictly to recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction. This role requires meticulous attention to detail as the prep cook will be responsible for maintaining detailed production worksheets, monitoring waste logs, and guaranteeing that all food storage, labeling, and dating are compliant with company and health safety policies including HACCP guidelines.

Beyond food prep, the position involves direct interaction with customers, taking orders, and ensuring that meals prepared meet the company's standards of taste and presentation. The prep cook operates various kitchen equipment, maintains cleanliness and sanitation as per department procedures, and addresses customer concerns promptly and professionally. This position demands strong teamwork and communication skills, as the prep cook will collaborate with chefs and other team members to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
  • prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • follow HACCP guidelines
  • complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • resolve customer concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
