The company is currently hiring a full-time Prep Cook for their location in Palo Alto, CA. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a competitive pay rate of $31.05 per hour. The Prep Cook plays a critical role in the daily food preparation process, working closely with the Chef to meet production schedules and quality standards. Key responsibilities include preparing menu items according to recipes and quantity guidelines, ensuring all food safety practices are meticulously followed, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and food supplies. The role also involves direct interaction with customers, offering efficient and friendly service, which helps uphold Bon Appetit's reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. Prep Cooks are essential in helping the kitchen run smoothly and uphold health and sanitation standards set by federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Requirements

  • able to work full time Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and production guidelines

Job Duties

  • obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • store, label and date all food items according to policy and follow HACCP guidelines
  • complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures and portion control
  • resolve customer concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
