Currently, Flik Hospitality Group is hiring full-time Prep Cooks for their location at Capital One Landing in Arlington, VA. This role is vital in the kitchen team, focusing on food preparation tasks that meet all safety, quality, and operational standards. The position offers a competitive fixed pay rate of $21.00 per hour and includes additional perks such as free meals, uniforms, and laundering services at select locations. Candidates with at least one year of prep cooking experience are preferred, and open availability is ideal, as hours and days may vary. The role involves working closely with culinary leaders to ensure all food items are prepared according to set recipes and production standards while maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety protocols.

The Prep Cook role goes beyond basic food assembly; it is a foundational position that supports the entire kitchen's efficiency and quality. Job Requirements

  • Previous 1 year of prep cooking experience required
  • Open availability preferred
  • Ability to work full time
  • Must be able to comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cooking and food preparation
  • Must be able to work varying hours and days
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete documentation accurately

Job Qualifications

  • Previous 1 year of prep cooking experience
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and production schedules
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
