The Douglasville Conference Center is a versatile venue that offers a wide range of event spaces suitable for gatherings both large and small. Among its impressive facilities, it boasts a 7,600-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 500 guests, a 150-seat auditorium, multiple meeting rooms, and a stunning outdoor terrace. As the exclusive catering partner for the Douglasville Conference Center, Proof of the Pudding ensures every event is complemented by outstanding food service and expert culinary support.

The Douglasville Conference Center and Proof of the Pudding together cater to a variety of occasions, from professional corporate conferences and industry exhibitions to elegant weddings and social celebrations. Their team, including the dedicated POPStars, consistently delivers memorable event experiences, handling all facets of event catering with pride and professionalism.

Proof of the Pudding is currently seeking Prep Cooks to join their culinary team within the Douglasville Conference Center kitchen. This role is vital for the successful execution of mass food production and overall kitchen organization during events. Prep Cooks are primarily tasked with preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, adhering to food safety standards, and supporting executive culinary staff as needed. The position demands a hands-on approach to managing workstations, assisting chefs, and ensuring food quality meets the high standards associated with the brand.

Job Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen
  • Knowledge of food preparation and food service
  • Strong understanding of execution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs
  • Adherence to company uniform requirements including non-slip shoes
  • Ability to travel to different venues within the greater Atlanta region
  • Ability to work flexible part-time hours

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen
  • experience in catering preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation and food service
  • Strong understanding of execution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and reading production sheets
  • Capable of producing consistent products in a timely manner
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to plan and multi-task
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Setting up and sanitizing workstations
  • Following prep lists created by lead culinary
  • Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock
  • Preparing simple dishes as directed by the Executive Chef
  • Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
  • Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to culinary tasks
  • Supervising food and cooling room temperatures
  • Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
  • Maintaining the highest level of food quality
  • Ensuring proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen/food service areas
