The role of a Line Cook at Eureka! is essential in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the high standards the restaurant is known for. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the Line Cook plays a critical role in preparing, prioritizing, and executing recipes in strict accordance with established policies and procedures. This non-exempt position demands a good balance of culinary skills, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety standards. The Line Cook is responsible for developing and maintaining precise and timely preparation of menu items, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and storage areas. The role also supports other kitchen operations such as dish and line stations when necessary, requiring flexibility and a cooperative attitude.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • food handler safety training card
  • able to stand and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
  • able to work in a fast paced and sometimes loud environment
  • able to follow safety and hygiene protocols including COVID-19 vaccination requirements

Job Duties

  • Interact with co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner
  • regular attendance and compliance with employee handbook and training manuals
  • understand and execute highlighted production sheets in order of priority
  • execute all recipes to the letter in a timely manner according to Eureka's standards
  • maintain and deliver all backups at proper temperature to appropriate area
  • operate kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • maintain clean and dry building
  • maintain sanitary prep areas
  • clean and organize walk-in, dry storage and freezer on a regular basis
  • label, date and rotate all prepped items in accordance with Eureka's shelf life specifications
  • maintain adequate product par levels
  • organize daily deliveries in proper storage areas
  • assist dish station and line functions when needed
