The current opportunity is for a Prep Cook position, which is a part-time role starting at $16 per hour, negotiable based on experience. The Prep Cook is a key member of the kitchen team responsible for preparing food items required for dining room orders and events while adhering to local health department standards and the company’s core values. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, cleanliness, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Prep Cook will work closely with the Kitchen Supervisor and other team members to maintain a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment. Responsibilities include preparing menu items according to recipes and make sheets, setting up service stations, maintaining proper portion control and presentation standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The role requires a professional appearance, friendly interaction with guests, and a proactive approach to anticipating and meeting guest needs.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum knowledge to interpret, extract information, and perform arithmetic functions
  • Good communication skills
  • Prior restaurant experience preferred
  • ServSafe Food and Allergen Certification required
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including day, evening, night, holidays, and weekends
  • Ability to maintain uniform and personal appearance standards
  • Ability to comply with local health and safety regulations
  • No travel required
  • Responsible for own pants and shoes meeting company specifications

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Report to work in uniform presented professionally, neat, and clean
  • Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner and make personal connections
  • Anticipate and meet the needs and expectations of guests, going one step further
  • Prepare all required items according to make sheets and recipes
  • Set up service units with needed items
  • Service items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • Notify the Kitchen Supervisor of expected shortages
  • Ensure assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • Assist the Kitchen Supervisor in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen
  • Set up, maintain, and break down prep cook station
  • Requisition items needed to produce menu items
  • Adhere to local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain any logs required by the health department
  • Cover, date, and neatly store all leftover products that are reusable
  • Maintain the highest sanitary standards
  • Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
  • Other duties as requested by management
