Established on principles inspired by the Society of the Sacred Heart, Duchesne Academy emphasizes nurturing each student's potential academically, socially, and morally. The school is dedicated to providing exceptional education with a focus on nurturing a safe, predictable, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff alike. As part of its commitment to excellence, the school maintains high professional standards and is dedicated to the holistic development of its community, including faith-based practices, collegial respect, and continuous professional growth.

The role of Prep Cook & Barista at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart is a unique dual-position opportunity designed to support both the kitchen and boutique coffee shop operations. The Prep Cook aspect of the role supports the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients and meals efficiently and safely while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Barista component involves delivering exceptional customer service by skillfully preparing and serving drink and food orders to students, faculty, and staff with a friendly and professional demeanor.

This position operates Monday through Friday with split shifts in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and a brief afternoon shift from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Prep Cook & Barista role is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of the school’s food service areas, including maintaining clean workspaces, following production schedules, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients. Candidates must be able to work efficiently under pressure while remaining patient and positive in a fast-paced environment. They must also comply with required safety, nutrition, and sanitation protocols, align themselves with Duchesne Academy’s goals and adhere to the professional and ethical standards expected of all faculty and staff.

Employees in this role will undergo necessary background checks, training including food handler certification, CPR certification, and safe environment training to ensure safety and well-being within the school community. This position requires physical stamina as duties involve frequent movement, lifting, and cleaning tasks. Duchesne Academy promotes a workplace culture of respect, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning to support both employee and student success. Individuals in this position will play a vital role in the school community by contributing to a positive dining and coffee shop experience that supports the overall educational mission of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart.
