Acts Retirement-Life Communities is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Prep Cook to join its culinary team. The Prep Cook position focuses on preparing food items essential for meal service, meticulously following established recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of progressive responsibility in a culinary or food preparation setting
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow established recipes and portion control guidelines
- Must comply with health and safety regulations
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of progressive responsibility in a full-service restaurant, catering, healthcare, country club/hotel, or cruise line environment
- Familiarity with food safety practices
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and advance culinary skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food items needed for meal service following recipes and portion control guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen work area
- Assist chefs and other kitchen staff as needed
- Monitor food inventory and storage conditions
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Support the culinary team in daily kitchen operations
- Participate in training and professional development programs
