Job Requirements
- Experience working with organic ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and in farm-to-table kitchens focused on locally sourced menus
- Experience prepping meals by thoughtfully combining fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Ability to keep the cooking station and the kitchen clean, organized, and aligned with health and safety standards
- Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to learn and communicate
- Ability to stay organized and self-driven
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Experience working with organic ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and in farm-to-table kitchens focused on locally sourced menus
- Experience prepping meals by thoughtfully combining fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Ability to keep the cooking station and the kitchen clean, organized, and aligned with health and safety standards
- Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to learn, take notes, ask questions, and communicate clearly
- Ability to stay organized and self-driven without constant direction
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays during busy seasons
- Comfortable with physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Job Duties
- Follow the prep list provided by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, completing all tasks in order and with care
- Label and stock ingredients clearly and in organized fashion
- Wash, chop, and sort fresh, seasonal produce and foods
- Clean and sanitize reusable cookware, prep tools, and work surfaces in alignment with eco-conscious kitchen practices
- Compost food scraps, sort recyclables, and responsibly dispose of waste to minimize environmental impact
- Maintain a clean, organized space while adhering to all health, safety, and food handling guidelines
- Monitor ingredient inventory and collaborate with the team to restock local, sustainable goods as needed
