The position available is for a Prep Cook, which reports directly to the General Manager or Kitchen Manager. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall dining experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent helpful, but not required
  • Able to stand for 10 hours
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Reasonable ability of hearing for safety and accurate communication
  • Reasonable command of the English language
  • Good physical condition
  • Must be alert to the team member and guest's needs

Job Qualifications

  • Former culinary schooling preferred
  • At least two years experience in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and fully engaged, service minded attitude

Job Duties

  • Believes in and follows all employee handbook standards and expectations
  • Punch in, sign in and report to the General Manager/Manager on time
  • Check with Kitchen Manager/Manager for all specials, preparation of lunch/dinner menu items, amount of prep, quality of product and cleanliness of area
  • Stock food products/equipment needed for station, clean, set/prepare
  • Checks with supervisor on duty for that shift's prep schedule
  • Always uses a recipe book for batch, process and portion prep
  • Read recipe before starting
  • Weigh and measure all ingredients
  • Be certain supervisor on duty tastes everything prepared
  • Always ice bath hot recipes before storing and store in walk in with lid cracked
  • Immediately refrigerate all items prepared
  • Always clean as you go
  • Always use clean food storage containers
  • Always date label and rotate product
  • Assumes responsibility for freshness and quality of items prepared
  • Follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Checks with MOD regarding condition of prep done, storage of items and cleanliness of prep area
  • Passes all general and departmental tests with a 90% grade or greater
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Kitchen Mgr/Manager or Key employee
