The Prep Cook position at Mirbeau plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team to produce fresh, high-quality ingredients that reflect the company’s dedication to wellness-focused menus and elevated guest experiences. Offered at a pay rate of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, this position involves a variety of responsibilities including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, measuring, portioning, and preparing foundational recipes such as stocks, sauces, dressings, and soups. The Prep Cook must also label, date, rotate, and store prepared food items properly while adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines. In addition, this role requires close communication and collaboration with chefs and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and well-stocked production lines.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients according to Mirbeau recipes and specifications
  • prepare foundational recipes such as stocks, sauces, dressings, soups as assigned
  • label, date, rotate, and properly store prepared food items following food safety standards
  • monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to Chef de Cuisine
  • maintain organized prep stations and ensure readiness after service periods
  • ensure garnishes, salads, and condiments are ready for service
  • communicate with chefs and line cooks to maintain stocked production line
  • support culinary team with additional food preparation needs
  • properly clean and reset prep areas at shift end
  • maintain open communication with kitchen and FOH staff
  • contribute ideas to improve kitchen productivity and food quality
  • maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • handle food safely to prevent spoilage or hazards
  • follow allergy-related procedures
  • report to work on time and professionally groomed
  • uphold service and appearance standards
  • follow all instructions from Head Chef
