This hourly, non-exempt position pays between $16 and $19 per hour, with flexible scheduling options to accommodate a variety of availability needs. The Prep Cook plays an essential role in the kitchen by preparing ingredients through washing, chopping, and cutting vegetables and meats, as well as performing basic cooking tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling. The position also entails preparing simple dishes, including salads and entrees, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and properly disposing of trash.
This role requires strong knife-handling skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and effective communication within the kitchen team. Prep Cooks must be able to read and follow detailed prep lists accurately and contribute as a cooperative team player.
