This position involves preparing ingredients thoroughly and efficiently to support chefs and cooks in delivering exceptional meals. Duties include washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients according to standardized recipes and kitchen protocols. The Prep Cook ensures a clean, organized, and properly stocked prep area, maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. By taking care of ingredient preparation in advance, the Prep Cook enables the kitchen to operate smoothly and maintain prompt service during busy periods. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude to work seamlessly with other kitchen staff. Additionally, the Prep Cook must be physically able to handle extended periods of standing and repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties
- Wash, peel, chop, and measure ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
- Assist chefs and cooks by preparing basic components such as sauces, dressings, and garnishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including proper storage of ingredients
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Monitor inventory levels of prep items and communicate needs to kitchen management
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by performing additional tasks as needed
