The Cook position within the Food & Beverage Department at Legends Global Richmond, Virginia location plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards the company is known for. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this part-time, non-exempt, hourly role demands a dedicated individual responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of meals at an impeccable level of quality, consistency, and timeliness. The role encompasses vital responsibilities such as supervising storage areas, assisting in ordering supplies, monitoring leftover foods to ensure proper labeling and storage, and coordinating meal production timings to maintain meal excellence and appearance. This position also includes food preparation duties such as carving, apportioning food, assisting in serving, and managing special diet orders in line with menu extension guides. Maintaining sanitation in all production and cooking areas is essential, as is the thorough cleaning of utensils, equipment, and kitchen spaces. The role requires the cook to ensure all electrical and gas appliances are powered off properly at the end of the shift and to participate in both daily and weekly deep kitchen cleanings.

Physically, the role is demanding and requires strength to exert between 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other movements necessary during work hours. The position necessitates constant standing and walking, combined with stooping, bending, and stretching, underlining the importance of physical fitness and stamina. Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays is a key requirement to fit within the operation schedules. Job Duties

  • Ensure meals maintain a high level of quality and are prepared in a consistent and timely manner
  • Supervises storage areas to assist in ordering food and supplies

  • In consultation with the supervisor, coordinates production with meal servicing hours to ensure that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
  • Carves and apportions food for serving and assists in serving meals

  • Maintains sanitation standards of all food production areas and the cook's refrigerator
